ChatGPT in the limelight

What is ChatGPT?
ChatGPT is an artificial intelligence (AI) chatbot created by OpenAI for online customer care. This runs on a language model called Generative Pre-trained Transformer (GPT). It is pre-trained and uses Natural Language Processing (NLP). It collects data from various sources such as text books, websites and articles. With these sources it models its own language and responds to human interactions giving natural answers in a very much conversational tone where human feel that they chat with another person.

Skills Expo 2023
AT BMICH, COLOMBO

There was a stall for Hithawathi at Skills Expo Exhibition 2023 endorsed by Ministry of Education. Hithawathi leaflets, promo cards were distributed and raising awareness on Hithawathi was conducted in all three languages. About 2000 including many school children from all over the island and the general public visited there on 12th, 13th and 14th May 2023.

AT SIGIRIYA CENTRAL COLLEGE

An awareness session on Cybersafety and Hithawathi services was held on 20th April 2023 at Sigiriya Central College under the initiative of “Hithawathi Teens Hub”. About 180 students, teachers and the principal participated in this session. At the end of the session a Cyber Quiz was asked and five winners were randomly selected out of those who gave the correct answer to award MD Gunasena book store gift vouchers of LKR 2,500/- each. Hithawathi Teens Hub Student Leaders are supposed to be awarded a valuable certificate signed by Ministry of Education and LK Domain Registry for their contribution to create a safer cyberspace for the school community.

An awareness session on Cybersafety and Hithawathi services was held on 21st April 2023 at Wewalawewa Central College under the initiative of “Hithawathi Teens Hub”. About 110 students, teachers and the principal participated in this session. At the end of the session a Cyber Quiz was asked and five winners were randomly selected out of those who gave the correct answer to award MD Gunasena book store gift vouchers of LKR 2,500/- each. Hithawathi Teens Hub Student Leaders are supposed to be awarded a valuable certificate signed by Ministry of Education and LK Domain Registry for their contribution to create a safer cyberspace for the school community.
